We all love and adore makeup; however, some of us don’t know what to keep in our makeup bag. Some of you are complete makeup rookies, and you don’t even know what to carry when you are traveling or moving to a different state.
I am here to help you list down all the makeup essentials you will need to stock up for your future makeup endeavors.
So, without any further ado, let me take you through the best makeup bag essentials:
1. Handy Dandy Mascara
Mascaras are the ultimate quick makeup that you can never leave behind while getting out of the house.
Got no makeup? No problem, draw up the wings really nice and sharp and voila, you now possess sex appeal. This is like a quick last resort fix when you can’t carry that many makeups around with you.
2. Mini Eyeshadow Palette
Most eye shadow boxes come in big boxes, that may not prove to be ideal if you carry it around. However, wouldn’t it be nice to do so?
This is the necessary makeup component that can add the ‘extra’ appeal effect for a quick trip to the club. Always worked for me.
3. Alphabet Creams
I save the foundation for big events. For everyday use, a combo of BB(Blemish Balm Cream) and CC(Colour Contouring) cream can do wonders. In fact, some prefer these over basic ol’ foundations.
After all, these creams are amazingly inexpensive. Depending on the look that you are aiming for, some might say these creams will work even better.
Fun Fact: There is a new addition to the alphabet cream family, and it’s called DD(Daily Defense) Creams. I would suggest this particular product since it’s a hybrid between BB and CC.
This is the best beginner’s makeup kit essential if you are prone to acne or discoloration, look for the closest shade to your foundation or the alternative Alphabet cream.
Concealers can really make a difference by evening out dark circles, blemishes, age spots, large pores, and textured skin before you go ahead and apply foundation.

5. Petroleum Jelly
This is one of those hack products to keep for emergencies and for everyday use.
It has many applications other than healing your lips. First and foremost- petroleum jelly can remove eye make up, really help with split ends, lengthen stay time of perfumes, hydrates better than your average face cream and lipsticks, when combined with loose makeup powder, like eye shadow.
6. Setting & Finishing Sprays
You can use a setting spray as well. Both are basically the same thing in different forms. A lot of these makeups you will be carrying will require you to apply setting spray/powder to hold the makeup together.
Finishing sprays to add the moisturized look on your face, over makeup.
7. Lip Gloss
Any guy or any makeup rookie reading this will be confused. So, I will break it down as briefly as possible why lip gloss is more convenient than its ‘stick counterpart’.
Say, you are on the go, and you need a quick fixup for your lips. Now, if you use lipstick, it will take some time, and you will definitely be needing proper reflection, or it may get smudged.
This is where lip gloss comes in. It is comfortable to wear, has a glossy finish that a lot of people like, moisturizes your lips, and works as an excellent substitute for lipsticks.
8. Brow Gels
You have no idea how crucial this piece of makeup is. When you have limited time and have to apply the finishing touches of your makeup on the go, you can always save your eyebrows for the last if you carry a brow gel.
What it does is fills in the gap and evens out your brows, and the finished look is really a lifesaver.
Now you got all this makeup in your purse but no proper tools to apply these with. So be sure to carry all the appropriate tools to assist and aid you with on-the-go makeup.
You need a mirror, ALWAYS! You can use it to see ‘who is the prettiest of them all.’
In all seriousness, the mirror is THE most important here in my honest opinion. At the end of the day, if you can’t see where and how you are putting on makeup, there is no telling how you might make a mess.
Plus, it’s a great way to check yourself out when in doubt.
